If you sell into the EU, your EPUB has to meet WCAG 2.1 AA and EPUB Accessibility 1.1 — semantic headings, proper navigation and reading order, alt text, language tags, and accessibility metadata declared in the OPF. Retailers are already filtering catalogues on that metadata, and procurement teams ask for a conformance report before they buy.
